Want to launch a startup this weekend?
We love startups at Fixel. It’s been fun to help create branding and interfaces for some of the coolest new apps and companies out there. However, there’s a myth and mystique about startups that you need huge budgets or to empty your savings to get something off the ground. In actuality, some pretty amazing things can happen if you just get the right talents in the same room together for a few days.
That’s why we are also believers in Startup Weekend, the non-profit that is helping take an idea to startup much more accessible. Their regional events happen every weekend in cities all over the world. In fact, one is happening in our backyard of Portland, Oregon this weekend. For the event, Fixel had the opportunity to join the list of world-class list of sponsors by contributing some design and branding work. In exchange, we can give something away.
I’ve attended a Startup Weekend and, without a whiff of hyperbole, I can say it was a life changing experience. But we’d like you to be able to go and experience the magic for yourself. It’s really simple. In the next 24 hours, we are taking your comments on why you’d like to attend Startup Weekend Portland. In an entirely subjective manner, we are choosing our favorite comment and sending that person through the door at Startup Weekend Portland for free. That’s $50 value for all the talent, mentors, facilities, food, and beer it will take to get your idea or the team you join off the ground.
There are only three requirements:
1. You will actually go to the event.
2. You wear our supple and stylish American Apparel 50/50 Fixel shirt at least one of the days.
